Source: Tech hires Harris as director of basketball operations

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech has hired former Shenandoah University coach Robert Harris as its new director of operations, a source said Monday night. Harris, a 1991 Shenandoah graduate, takes over the role previously held by Andy Moore. Moore was promoted to a full-time assistant coach last month by Hokies head coach James Johnson.

The Washington D.C. native went 125-162 in 11 seasons with the Division III Hornets. He spent the last year as Charlottesville High School’s director of activities.
